Get your Home Run Derby tickets soon because you definitely want to see the best boppers in MLB baseball jack it out of the ballpark.
Eight MLB players, often MLB All-Star Game players, compete in the Home Run Derby. Each player gets ten outs, for the Derby an out is anything that is not a home run. The four players with the most home runs after the first round move onto round two, and the home run totals from the first round are carried into the next round. The two players with the most home runs after the second round head into the Home Run Derby Final Round, where the home run total resets to zero. Then, fans with Home Run Derby tickets get to see which player gets the ball out of the ballpark the most, and that player is named the MLB Home Run Derby Winner.
Usually, MLB officials try to select four batter from both the American League and the National League. Josh Hamilton broke the record for most home runs in the first round with an incredible 28. Hamilton broke the previous record of 24 held by Bobby Abreu.
